Prospective Mentees

You would be a good fit for the WLI’s next cohort:

  1. If you are between the ages 25 and 45;
  2. If you want to continue your own personal and Jewish growth;
  3. If you seek to learn from a mentor who is an effective and experienced communal leader;
  4. If you’d like to get to know 9 other bright, creative and committed young Jewish women;
  5. If you wish to create the bright Jewish future you want for your family & community.

Application Process

A community leader or member of WLI nominates potential mentees, January 2020.  Nominations sent to elanakanter@womenlearning.org.  Once nominated, mentee receives an invitation to apply.  Applications are due on February 28, 2020.  Once application is received, a face-to-face interview will be scheduled for March 2020.  Potential mentees notified of results before Passover.

Program Requirements

  1. Opening Retreat:  Sept. 6/7 Sun. 7pm – Mon. 2pm Growth Culture
  2. Group Meetings:  6:30pm-8:30pm, mostly Tuesdays
    • Sept. 15  Learning from Failure
    • Oct. 6  Effective Communication
    • October 27, Agency Night
    • Nov. 3 Cohorts 5-6
    • Nov. 13 Shabbat Dinner at Rabbi Kanter’s home
    • Dec. 1 Vision and Shabbat
    • Mid-year Retreat:  Jan. 10  Sun 9am – 3pm Leadership Qualities
    • Alumni Retreat (optional) Jan. 17-18
    • Feb. 2 The Ask & The Mitzvah
    • March 5 Change Management
    • April 2 Celebrate Success
    • May 7 (Monday) Celebration of Achievement
  3. Between group meetings:  by audio, video or in-person, meet with mentor.
  4. General openness to both learning and contributing to the learning of others.
  5. Individually or together with other women, take on a community project or position of your own choosing, of any size, to be completed by June 30, 2022.

Prospective Mentors

You would be a good fit for the WLI’s next cohort:

  1. If you are passionate about raising up the next generation of women leaders for the Jewish community;
  2. If you want to strengthen the Jewish community for years to come;
  3. If you want to invest your time, energy and experience for the benefit of young women;
  4. If you have experience coaching or mentoring or if you have other qualifications that would make you an effective mentor of young women;

If there is an available spot, we will contact you for an interview.  If there is no available spot, we will add you to our list for the future.
